Camping will be dispersed dry camping throughout the forest off Forest Service Road 50, which is right next to Tall Timbers County Park. It is South of AZ-260.
Dispersed Camping in the Forest
Dispersed camping is also allowed along forest roads closer to Heber-Overgaard. Visitors have to camp within 300 feet of the developed forest road, but are not allowed to camp in trail heads, on trails, in parking lots, within ¼ mile of wildlife water supply, or where it is posted “No Camping”.
Suggested dispersed camping roads around Heber-Overgaard:
Forest Road 86 (Black Canyon), 144, 124, 107, and 210. Forest Roads 50 and 51 are also available but nice camping locations are more limited.
